Are the Synchron Oboes very loud, or have I broken something?
I can’t really check this late at night as I’m about to finish shutting down my computer for the day, but one thought that comes to mind is that the oboe may tend to play at slightly lower dynamic attacks than other woodwinds. But I haven’t played a real oboe in a number of years so I don’t remember for sure. I just know that this applies to some other instrument families, and within a drum set to the hi-hat. So, I use lower Note On Velocity or CC control in such cases. Use your ears to judge naturalness of timbre in the context of your intent.
